Consultation

The Parish Council is a statutory consultee for all planning applications within the Parish and for any large applications that may have an impact on the Parish.  We do not decide planning applications, but our comments are taken into account when decisions are made.  The final decision to approve or refuse an application is made either by a North Northamptonshire Council’s Planning Committee or delegated to one of their Planning Officers if the application is not thought to be contentious.

We receive copies of all planning applications within the Parish and these are reviewed by the members of the Planning Group. Comments are then sent to the Planning Department at the North Northamptonshire Council.

We try to represent the interests of the Parish and its parishioners when commenting on an application.  If you wish to have your views taken into account when we prepare our comments you should contact the Planning Group and, where necessary, we would consider the comments from all parties as well as taking the Parish view.

Green Hill Solar Farm

The application was granted by the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero on 8th October 2026.

The Parish Council is actively engaging with the planning process for the solar farm, and is working with the local action group.  So far, we have attended the developer’s initial informal meetings, responded to their Scoping consultation and responded to their PEIR.  The Scoping process decides which issues must be addressed within the final application.  PEIR stands for Preliminary Environmental Impact Report which gives initial information about some anticipated impacts and sets out how impacts will be assessed in the final application document.  The final complete application document, which is expected in May, is called a Development Consent Order [DCO].  This will be assessed by the Planning Inspectorate and will include public involvement either through written representations or participation in public meetings.

In order to make representations to the Planning Inspectorate you should have registered as an Interested Party before 14th August 2025.  Bozeat Parish Council has registered as an Interested Party.

The Examining Body has now completed its Examination of the application.  The findings and conclusions arising from the Examination, together with the Examining Authority’s Recommendation will be sent to the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero no later than 10th July 2026.  View a letter from the Examining Authority that has been published on the National Infrastructure Planning website. Applications

If you are considering applying for planning permission, you might save time and money if you first consult your neighbours, and consider the common questions North Northants Council web site and possibly, the Parish Council, before plans are drawn up.  If you know your neighbour’s particular concerns, you may be able to produce a design that avoids any conflict.
