BOZEAT PARISH COUNCIL

RISK ASSESSMENT POLICY AND PROCEDURE

General

The Parish Council is committed to health and safety and intends to carry out risk assessments as required in its Health and Safety Policy, to ensure the safety of residents, visitors, employees and contractors.

Once a risk assessment has been carried out, any areas of concern should be raised with either the full Council at the next available meeting or, if the matter is deemed more urgent, then a meeting should be sought with the Council Chairman and the relevant sub-group. In addition, all members of the Parish Council have the responsibility for ensuring that any Health and Safety issues that come to their attention are dealt with swiftly by reporting the issue either to the Parish Clerk or to the Chairman. Items requiring emergency action may be determined by the Chairman and Clerk, in the first instance.

Procedure

  1. This list of applicable items and the months of appraisal will be revised annually for adoption at the January Parish Council meeting. The Clerk and the Parish Council will review any changes in legislation and/or legislative requirements when carrying out risk assessments.
  2. Any area/items that are considered to require non-urgent professional assessment or inspection will be referred to a meeting of the full Parish Council.
  3. Risk assessment should be carried out for areas using the risk assessment report templates.
  4. Risk assessments will be carried out by suitably qualified, trained and experienced individuals
