Street Doctor Headline

No new street doctor reports raised during this period. Report 119 has been completed.  The following remain open and continue to be monitored Boz 99 and 116.

The current position with the matters raised with NNC representative is as follows:

  • Traffic calming and 20mph speed limit along Harrold Road.

Request made to Ian Boyes to install, as per email; road markings and signs so described. No change.


  • Ongoing works yet to be completed
  • The pavement is due to be lowered at the corner of Harrold Road and Church Lane; order placed and work has been programmed. Ian Boyes confirmed that the kerb lowering at the corner of Church Lane. and Harrold Road is to be undertaken during the school summer holidays.  Kerb has been lowered – work complete.
  • Look to install yellow no parking lines at the corner of Allen Hill and Harrold Rd. To be added to next years’ installation programme, we will need to mark up where we would like the intended no parking lines to be placed along Church Lane and Harrold Road. Submission made, awaiting determination; this could take up to 18 months to complete. This was raised at the Parish’s Council meeting and we have requested that this be done sooner than previously reported. No change during this period. Notification received 12th April 2022 to install no parking double yellow lines.  Yellow no parking lines installed at Camden Square and Warners Hill.  No change.


  • Discussion with NCC Highways representative

Notes from meeting with Ben Wright held on the 3rd August 2022.

Removal of hedge at the corner of Allens Hill and London Road. To facilitate yield sign replacement; chase up removal’ Response from Highways: This will be removed on Friday 5th Hedge has been removed and work to replace the yield sign has been programmed for October 2022.

Lowering of the kerb at the corner of Harrold Road and Church Lane to be completed prior to the school returning from summer break; we agreed the importance of meeting this deadline; to be brought to the attention of relevant team undertaking the work to ensure it is completed on time. Response from Highways: Works will be undertaken over the school holiday period as discussed on site. This work has been completed.

The vegetation obscuring road sign along Church Lane to be trimmed back; currently not visible. Response from Highways: A works order is being raised to clear this vegetation within 28 days. This work has been completed.

The junction of Harrold Rd and Church Lane/Allens Hill. Marked up for thermal repair work. Response from Highways: The Thermal Repairs will be added to our existing order that will be completed within the next 6 months.  No change.

Harrold Rd and Dychurch Lane Street signs to be replaced. Response from Highways: This issue has been referred to NNC who maintain street nameplates – I’ll report back any updates. No change.

NNC to review the roads in Bozeat before October this year for surface dressing; for inclusion in next years’ programme of works. Highways have put the suggested sites forward to the team responsible for surface treatments and will have a programme around October-time. It must be noted that these sites aren’t guaranteed for inclusion in the programme and will be ranked alongside other recommended sites across North Northamptonshire.  Provide feedback on whether Bozeat roads are to be sealed. Response – Still awaiting firm programme from the team responsible and will update as soon as I have confirmation. No change.

Pavement areas along Abbey Close and the corner of Queen Street and Easton Lane have been identified for repair. No change.
