The Examination closed on 10th April.  The Parish Council submitted a summary of our primary concerns at the final opportunity.  The inspectors have 3 months to make a recommendation and then the Energy Secretary has 3 months after they receive it to decide the application

  • 26/00230/HFUL – Extensions 10 St Marys Road

Supplementary plans have been submitted for 3 parking places following comments from us and Highways.

Comments sent:

The Parish Council shares the concern raised by Highways that there is no parking provision as a part of this application for what we believe would become a
5-bedroom dwelling.

The property currently has no on-site parking and is on a corner where current on-street parking creates a dangerous, blind, single-lane corner.  We therefore feel that it is essential that on-site parking is provided if the application is to be approved.

  • 25/01313/FUL – Change of use, 76 London Road

An odour assessment has been submitted based on use as a fish and chip shop.  It finds a medium risk of odour issues at nearby properties.  Permission would set a use class that would not be restricted to use as a fish and chip shop.  A full specification of the extraction equipment has now been supplied.

Response sent:

We note the recent odour assessment that found a medium risk of nuisance from odour affecting the amenity of nearby residential properties and consider that this is unacceptable under JCS policy 8e(i).  We are further concerned that if permission were to be granted it would create a use class that is not restricted to the assessed use and could result in the use as the preparation of a more odorous food type which would have a greater adverse impact.

Should permission be granted we would recommend that a condition is attached that limits the types of food that can be produced.
