Comments sent:

Bozeat Parish Council have just been made aware of the proposal for a plastic and paper recycling plant.  Our greatest concern is that the application does not address the safety concerns that arise because of the risk of a fire.  We are aware that similar plants in both Rushden and Milton Keynes have experienced serious fires and emitted toxic fumes.  These would certainly be hazardous to the residents of Wollaston but the plume from a sustained fire could reach much further.  We feel that the application should contain an assessment of the potential impacts of a fire and, if it can be managed, an emergency plan that can be put into action should one occur.

We are further concerned that a B8 warehouse, especially of the size and scale proposed is inappropriate in this location.  It would be extremely detrimental to the character of this rural route that is well used and enjoyed by residents of Bozeat.  Whilst we acknowledge that there is some existing industrial development along Doddington Road, it is of a much smaller scale and density and has a low level of impact.

Should permission be granted, we feel that it should include a condition that sets the maximum height of any development on the site.

Bozeat Parish Council therefore objects to this application.
