ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT FOR the WEBSITE of BOZEAT PARISH COUNCIL


There are many people with impaired vision, motor difficulties, cognitive impairments or learning disabilities and those with deafness or impaired hearing who have a right to access the website of Bozeat Parish Council.  This right comes under the Equality Act 2010 and Equality and Human Rights Act which states that websites are required to meet WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1AA accessibility standard.

We will keep the website text as simple as possible to understand and is compliant in accordance with these standards.   Bozeat Parish Council is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications( (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

The Parish Council of Bozeat is committed to ensuring everyone can have access to our website and have detailed this website accessibility statement for all. Our website is currently run by the IT Group within Bozeat Parish Council; it is now being developed by an external Company experienced in this new technology and is being updated to reflect the new legislation.  Our new website will enable the following features:

  1.     Change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  2.     Zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  3.     Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  4.     Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  5.     Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

 We hope to report the good news soon. as we want as many people as possible to be able to use this resource.
